Our Own Mysteries

Today, to celebrate the end of our Nancy Drew story, we all made and illustrated our own mystery stories. Instead of our regular write up, we’re going to go over what everyone wrote. There are a ton of pics, so it should be a lot of fun.

Tove told us the story of a little girl that wanted vanilla ice cream and got more and more of it. She ended up turning into an ice cream monster and scaring everyone. Thankfully, the doctor gave her a shot and she decided to never eat ice cream again.

Niki and Gia both wrote about a little dog that wanted to go to the park, but then got stuck in a big thunderstorm. Thankfully, it survived and the dog went to bed. They discussed how they told the same story but used different pictures to illustrate the story.

Paolo told us about how he went to a grocery story and tried to get some fruit, but it was all gone. Then, it got even worse when he got locked in the grocery store. Sadly, at that point, he ran out of panels, so he had to just tell us how the story ended, but thankfully everything worked out.

Sokrates’ mystery was pretty tough to figure out, since it involved one person hiding a ball from another person who wouldn’t even get a hint. It was a hard to solve mystery, but it was all wrapped up in the end.

Anja’s story took a bit of a turn, as it opened with a girl that had a very nice ring. However, when she lost it she only could find pieces of it, which were very good clues. She eventually found it and pulled it to her with her superpowers, which I thought was a nice twist.

Rebecca’s story was very similar to the Nancy Drew story, as it revolved around some missing candlesticks. Thankfully, even after falling into a river, our detective managed to recover everything successfully.

Timo’s mystery was almost a tragedy, as it opened with the robbery of a cupcake shop. Even when Timo tried to catch him, the robber gave him a black eye. Thankfully, Timo had a magic ring that made him strong and helped him track down the robber and put him in jail. Tragedy averted.

Teddy solved his mystery through good old fashioned detective work. He lost his marker, but rewalked where he had gone and managed to find it. Whoo, that was a close one.

Yianni’s mystery was almost spooky. He was walking his dog (he had to explain that he doesn’t actually have a dog, it was just in the story) when it disappeared. He kept looking for it until he found some clues and found the dog at the Golden Place, which he made sure to draw in color, just so it stood out more.

I was thrilled at the creativity and the way that we all supported each other. Max made sure that he was listening for all the details in people’s stories and can’t wait to finish his story tomorrow. It was a blast learning with everyone and working together. Have a great night everyone!
