Pizza Party 4-3-19

I think everyone’s favorite class of the session is here! Let’s dive right in.

Emma knew that she wanted to cut her pizza into smaller pieces, so she counted the dots in order to divide it evenly. Plout got started right away because he realized that there was one oven and a lot of people, so he wanted to get his in the oven right away. Olivia wasn’t just thinking ahead, she was thinking about someone else; she knew she wanted to give her brother some of the pizza, so she made it just the way he liked it: pepperoni (which she could barely stand to touch) and extra sauce. Then, instead of baking it right away with hers, she waited and baked it at the end so it would still be warm. Antonella advised everyone on how to tell when the pizza was done: the crust should be just a little brown and the cheese should be melty and bubbly. Amelia realized the hard way how much the cheese would melt down, as she had to add extra cheese after baking because it melted down so much. Aarya was discussing other pizza flavors with her classmates and wondered if they could make a lasagna pizza. Lamasu decided he wanted to host his own cooking show and so he practiced narrating as he cooked; ‘Cooking with Masu’ seems like it would be a pretty good show! Maria was making her pizza when she realized she wanted more pepperoni. Since we had figured out that each person could only get 10 slices, she looked around and asked someone who wasn’t using theirs if she could get their pepperoni; I really like that problem solving. This was a great class. Everyone was very excited to cook and make the pizza just how they liked it.

Next week, I’m listening to popular demand and making mug cake. If you would like to bring in your own mug, that would be great! Have a great night!
