Godzilla Theater Season 2

Great news everyone, we wrapped up season 2 of Godzilla and Friends Theater today! The plays are uploaded to the youtube channel, make sure to check it out! If yours didn’t get uploaded, hopefully we can get it uploaded in the next season!

Our problem of the day seemed pretty easy at first, as it just asked the class how much snow Niki would have left on her lawn after it melted for 3 days. Teddy barely left the rug before he shared that he thought there were 25 inches left. Rebecca pointed out that the snow was melting, which Niki interpreted to mean that she needed to cross out inches of snow, not add more (Teddy thought that sounded like a good idea and redid his work). After we worked through the problem, the bonus changed it up by saying this time is snowed 4 inches on top of the 7 inches left. Sokrates did some awesome mental math by saying he knew it was 11, because 4+6=10, and there is just 1 more.

We kept enjoying the historical reading, this time it got a little disturbing, hearing about the family butchering livestock to get ready for the winter. Anja started the story by laughing about how little house and big woods are opposites, and made up the skinny house in the fat woods. Max decided that he wouldn’t want to play with a pig bladder like a ball, which the girls in the story did. Timo agreed, teaching me the Greek word for ‘pee’ while explaining why he wouldn’t want to play with it. Yianni pointed out how similar ‘butcher’ and ‘bladder’, with the same beginning and ending letters, which made it tough to write. Tove thought it was kind of sad when the pig died, but she still decided to draw it for her chapter picture. Paolo debated which was scarier, the wolves in the first chapter or the bear in the second chapter and decided on the wolves. Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!
